Basketball is a Olympic sport that is enjoying growth in participation levels due to its capacity to include people of different ages, skills, genders, cultures and backgrounds. People of all height and athletic ability can and are encouraged to play a fast, fun and dynamic sport.

Norwood League is the biggest basketball provider within the north eastern suburbs, and we have the experience and capability to provide development pathways for players, coaches and referees.

Is your child wanting to participate in basketball? Registrations are now open for players who wish to learn in targeted training sessions, join a team or both.

We also welcome already established social teams and schools to enter their teams in our competitions.

Training options

Norwood Hoops

Training program for boy and girl beginners to the sport aged between 5 and 9 years old delivered by a Norwood district coach. Sessions are run for 45 mins each Saturday morning. Ideal for beginners who want to learn the skills of the sport or young players already in teams who wish to increase their skill level. Register at this link by selecting the Hoops option.

Development Squad

Development Squad is a small group training session for multiple age groups and both genders designed to help you improve on your basics and gain a greater understanding for the game. Delivered by Norwood district coaches, it is a great way to learn new skills, improve your old ones and gain valuable information from our coaching staff. Sessions are run on both Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.  Register at this link by selecting the Development Squad option that suits you.

Playing options – Children and Teenagers

Norwood League – Saturdays

Norwood’s first domestic program. Played across age groups from under 8 upwards at Golden Grove, Turramurra and Burragah Recreation Centres, Norwood League is a great way to be introduced to playing the great game of basketball while making new friends. Players are assigned to one of our Norwood Wildcats teams with games starting Saturday mornings in the younger age groups and extending into the afternoon. District coaches are available to help support coaches new to the sport. Team registration for the season costs $9, individual registration is $7.00 or $8.00, game fee is $50 per team per game and reversible playing singlets are available for a once off cost of $65 each. After School Basketball

Catering to children in year 2 to year 7, our after school ball caters to school teams, with games played in the recently built ARC, Campbelltown facility. Team registration for the season is $80, game fee is $7.00 per player. Teams can be registered at the following link.
